Elsa Buchanan is a journalist, photographer, and communications specialist focused on conflict, humanitarian action, displacement, and recovery across the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Her work combines field reporting, visual storytelling, and strategic communications, with a particular focus on the human impact of war, mine action, forced displacement, and post-conflict recovery. Over the past decade, she has reported from and documented crises in Yemen, Lebanon, South Sudan, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and other conflict-affected regions.
