The Sisters Left Behind by Yemen’s Landmines

In western Taiz, sisters Nada and Neda’a Mohamed Mansor were collecting firewood near their home when they triggered an anti-personnel landmine hidden among the trees. The explosion left both girls with severe injuries and long-term medical complications, disrupting their education and daily lives. Through conversations with the sisters and their father, this report explores the enduring physical, financial, and emotional toll landmines continue to impose on families across Yemen.
